Prepare the facts for an LMIA discussion.
A short, organized employer summary can help clarify what program questions need attention. The checklist below is general and does not replace current ESDC instructions.
Summarize the employer and position
Note the business name, worksite, job duties, proposed wage, schedule, anticipated start date and why the role is being filled.
Gather recruitment details
Record where and when the role was advertised, the response received and how candidates were assessed. Keep the underlying records available for review.
Bring relevant correspondence and dates
Include program letters, existing LMIA or permit details and important dates. Avoid sending employee passport information or financial data through the website form.
Your next step
Book an appointment Discuss an employer’s next step
Book an employer consultation to review the position and information available.
